The Great Book Scan Project

I’m currently preparing a digital version of Betty Christensen’s memoir “15 Years on the Road”.

Unfortunately, no digital copy of the manuscript was kept back when it was first edited and printed. So, I’ve decided to scan the entire book and save it as a PDF.

This is quite a task as each of the manuscript’s 190 odd pages needs to be manually scanned, loaded into Google Docs, and then reformatted to deal with scanning errors.

I’m also making a few minor formatting changes ( paragraph spacing, indents etc) to make the document more suitable for reading on screen.

Once the project is finished, I’ll upload a copy to the website. Then, family and friends can download a copy whenever they like.

I’m currently around a quarter way through the scan and hope to finish within the next two or three weeks.
